Tiger Temple in Kanjanaburi

Today a group from school went to The Floating Market Dum Nern Saduak in Ratchaburi (about 2 hours from Hua Hin, where we live) and then to the Tiger Temple in Kanjanaburi (about 3 hours away.) One the way, we stopped at the bridge that the 1957 film The Bridge of River Kwai was based on and ate lunch.

Tiger Temple is an animal sanctuary run by monks in Kanjanaburi, which is in a rural area near Bangkok.

Bores, deer, and water buffalo all live happily together

The one on the right tried to gore me right after I took this picture. By the way, calling someone a Water Buffalo is one of the biggest insults in Thailand.

Two tigers snuggling while they take a nap

Giving the cub a bath. When the cub had to get out of the water he was really angry and tried to growl at the monk. He was having fun in the bath and didn't want to get out. The monk had to carry him out.

A sign on the temple grounds. Precept 8: Abstain from the Use of High and Large, Luxurious Couches. Good advice?
